Mrs. Mitchell's Gift Shops, originally Mrs. Mitchell's Country Shoppe, was founded by George and Freda Mitchell in 1966 in Hampton Beach, NH. Joining the family business was Evelyn and Frank Mitchell, who started to run the shop full-time in the 1970s. They, along with their 6 children, spent every summer running the store. Two of their children, Robert and Lynn, own and operate Mrs. Mitchell's Gifts today. Robert and Jessica Mitchell now carry on the tradition at the original Hampton Beach location, along with their twin sons, Max and Zach. In 1991, Lynn Mitchell and her father Frank opened their Cape Cod locations in Hyannis and West Yarmouth. Nowadays, Mrs. Mitchell's Gifts and Mrs. M's Summer House in Hyannis are run by Lynn Mitchell and her family. George, Freda, and Evelyn all passed away in the 90's and Frank in 2002. The tradition carries on and their parents and grandparents would be proud.
